Mount Royal—nicknamed the “Garden City”—is a town that offers an amazing quality of life. Yeah it’s a fashionable address, but more than that it’s a place where the locals get together for all the many things there are to do all year round.

Here are a few that struck a chord with us, with a few cool hotspots for enjoying an awesome winter in Mount Royal.

Rockin’ the library!

The Reginal J. P. Dawson Library—built in 1967 and renovated in 2012 and 2013—is the perfect place to take a break, learn something, or read in a quiet setting.

Here are one activity on offer for kids:

For little ones, ages 2 to 5, there’s bilingual Storytime on Tuesday from March 10 to 24. Registration required.

Let’s go out and play

Mount Royal owes its nickname in part to a plethora of parks that turn into winter playgrounds when the mercury drops. Connaught and Danyluk are two that offer public skating.

Cool hotspots

Mount Royal is no bedroom community—residents enjoy a fabulous selection of neighbourhood shops and hotspots. Here are some of our favourites:

Léonidas is a chocolate shop known for its friendly service and tasty treats. In summer or winter, the dipped ice cream is to die for! 1777 Graham Boulevard .

Steps away is Mikado Go, a sushi-poke-bento restaurant known for its varied flavours and wide-ranging menu. We strongly endorse the salmon poke.

For summer get-togethers or dinner with friends, head for Galo Portuguese Grill. The amazing, authentic Portuguese cuisine spreads a mouthwatering aroma of grilled chicken at lunchtime that pulls in diners from all over the neighbourhood. Don’t even try to resist!

A little farther along Chemin Lucerne is La Shop BMR, the local hardware store. This is the place to go for the tools you need as well as for life-saving project advice. We partnered for its grand opening in 2019.

Have a great winter in the Town of Mount Royal!
